Hoarding Artwork on Gilbert Ward Academy's Building Site
Return to Latest NewsThe company constructing the new Gilbert Ward Academy site have created artwork for the hoardings outside of the development. Laura Brown, the Social Value Manager for Bowmer + Kirkland, explored archives and approached the local community for photos and stories from the former Princess Louise School, which was on the site where Gilbert Ward Academy is being built. These hoarding artworks include past students reliving their memories of the school, and one former pupil even wrote a poem about her time there. The artwork is up for the local community to see and Laura hopes residents will spot themselves in one of the many class photos from the last 70 years.
