Mary Astell Academy Receive ICT Improvements
Return to Latest NewsMary Astell Academy's ICT resources and infrastructure has had a major upgrade following significant Trust investment.
Over the summer term, both ICT suites had a complete refurbishment of all PCs, and PCs in both teaching and non-teaching areas were also replaced and upgraded. The additional purchase of 20 laptops for pupil use in classrooms will allow for more integration of ICT and online learning to be delivered across the curriculum.
Mary Astell Academy has also benefitted from the integration of dark fibre into the ICT network system, which has enabled the school to have better connectivity and capacity for their network. The dark fibre project, led by Newcastle City Council, is being introduced throughout all of Prosper Learning Trust’s schools, with Mary Astell Academy being the first academy to have access to this increased ICT capability.
Andrea Spowart, Head of School for Mary Astell Academy, said “We are thrilled to have had our ICT systems and network updated at Mary Astell Academy, with new ICT equipment, a complete refresh and upgrade of our network infrastructure and the integration of dark fibre. Effective ICT is integral to supporting our ambitious curriculum and supporting the operation of Mary Astell Academy, these improvements make sure that we are running smoothly for today and for the future”.
