Becoming a School Governor

Across Prosper Learning Trust and in local schools the role of governance is a really important role. There are a whole host of good reasons to become a governor and lots of local schools are looking for governors to join their team.

Enhance Your Career

Serving as a school governor allows you to develop a range of skills, including leadership, strategic planning, and financial management. These skills are not only valuable in the context of school governance, but can also enhance your professional and personal development. Once you have experience in governance you may have opportunities to progress to serve as a Trustee on an Academy Trust Board or to branch out to NHS Trust, charity or industry boards, which often offer paid roles.
