Thomas Bewick School Featured in BBC Programme About Pressure on the SEND System

Thomas Bewick School hosted the BBC last Wednesday morning, as they prepared a feature exploring the current pressures on SEND education.
The BBC film crew were shown around the school and displayed a particular interest in the specialist facilities on offer, including the sensory rooms and rebound space, to help them gain a sense of the provision and the importance of the specialist support available to our pupils.
As part of the feature they interviewed Prosper Learning Trust’s CEO, Chris Richardson, and asked him about the growing demand for specialist school places and local efforts to meet it.
The footage was broadcast on Politics North on Sunday 9th March and Look North on Monday 10th March. He was also interviewed live on BBC Newcastle on Monday morning at 7.10am. Links below:
