Catherine Bhatti Appointed at Deputy Headteacher of Harry Watts Academy
Return to Latest NewsProsper Learning Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Bhatti to the position of Deputy Headteacher at Harry Watts Academy. Catherine was previously the Assistant Headteacher at Harry Watts Academy.
Catherine has had various roles throughout her educational and SEND career, including managing a National Autistic Society service and teaching in a school for ASC pupils in London. Prior to working in Harry Watts Academy, Catherine worked at Thomas Bewick School, another school within Prosper Learning Trust. Her roles there included School Development Lead, alongside Phase Lead for Post 16 and KS3.
When asked about her appointment, Catherine said: “I am really proud to have been appointed as Deputy Headteacher at Harry Watts Academy. My first experience of working with pupils with ASC was as a student counsellor at ESPA College, which has services in Newcastle and Sunderland, so I have come full circle. I am really looking forward to working with Louise Hindmarch and the whole staff team to further develop the school and offer great opportunities for our pupils to achieve their potential at every level of ability.”
Louise Hindmarch, Headteacher of Harry Watts Academy, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Catherine will be the new Deputy Headteacher at Harry Watts Academy. Catherine has brought an extensive amount of skills, experience and expertise to the school and I am thrilled she will be continuing with us into the future.”
